Currawong Lakes is located in Tasmania’s Eastern Tiers near Lake Leake, about 2 hours north of Hobart, 1.5 hours south of Launceston, and 1 hour west of Tasmania’s east coast region.

Currawong Lakes is accessible by car, and is approximately 2 hours north of Hobart, 1.5 hours south of Launceston, and 1 hour west of Tasmania’s east coast. Head east from Campbell Town towards Lake Leake, and follow the signs to Currawong Lakes. The road into the property is gravel-surfaced for approximately 12 kilometres.

The property encompasses 2,000 acres of native bushland. A vehicle is essential for getting to Currawong Lakes. Once here, guests are welcome to walk or drive around the property to access various locations.

Tasmania’s weather is variable throughout the seasons, so we recommend packing appropriate closed footwear suitable for the outdoors, sun protection and warm layers year round.
Our winter season brings cool evenings and frosty mornings. Beanies, gloves and a warm coat are recommended when travelling during this time of year.

The Currawong Lakes experience is all about connecting with the things that matter most.
There is no mobile reception on the property, but complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi is available at Reception and Hillstone Hall.
Guests staying at The Lake House also have complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi in their lodgings.

Each accommodation includes basic provisions such as oil, salt & pepper, a small selection of herbs and spices, plus tea and coffee.
Breakfast hampers, lunch packs, heat and serve meals and grazing boards are available to pre-order. We also have a range of venison produce and heat and serve meals to choose from in our ‘Cellar and Pantry’ located in our reception area.
Chef Chris Lucas from What Grows is available on request for in-house private dining at The Lake House, and catering for larger groups.
Currawong Lakes is otherwise a self-catering property, and you are welcome to bring your own food and beverage to the property, noting that the nearest convenience store is a 40 minute drive away.

Each of the accommodation options at Currawong Lakes is secluded, with The Lake House, Hunters Cabin and Bush Cabin 3 offering total privacy. Bush Cabins 1 and 2 are closer together, and are ideal for families or groups holidaying together.

We welcome you to check in any time from 2pm-9pm. If you plan to arrive after 9pm, please let us know beforehand so that we can arrange to meet you.
We kindly request check-out by 10am on the day of your departure.

Our other activities include Clay Target shooting, Orienteering, or guided ATV tours!
You can relax and listen to the sounds of the native bushland around you, go for a self-guided walk or a hike, hire a kayak and paddle the lakes or come dark, gaze at the stars and when timing is right, experience the Southern Lights!
